Upgraded to fusion 8.0. Still can’t get win10 to work. Same message saying that the video driver isn’t compatible. frustrating.

      Hi George =)

We’ve covered this topic a number of times, have a look at our previous blog posts on the matter for more detail.
In a nutshell, the bug is with the Windows 10 validation tool, and the simple workaround is to download the .iso from Microsoft and upgrade it that way. The time it takes is the same (since you have to download all that data during the upgrade anyway) and you benefit by having the installer on hand if you want to create other new virtual machines.

I bought VMware Fusion 7 Pro 10 days before 7/29. I have since installed the Fusion Technology Review 2015. Does VMware plan to release an update to VMWare Fusion 7 Pro that will support the converted VMs (converted by Fusion Tech Review 2015)? Since i just paid for VMware Fusion 7 Pro, i don’t really want to have to cough up another $119.99 just to upgrade to VMware Fusion 8 Pro.

Parallels does not let Windows share the Apples WiFi connection “out of the box”. An Ethernet connection must be used. Does VMWare allow the WiFi feature to be implemented upon installation?

Hi Michael. Great news on the OpenGL & DirectX capabilities. That’s what tempted me to download the trial. However, I’ve had a very frustrating time trying to get it going. I have a less than six month old MBA and as far as I can tell I meet all the requirements laid out on p13 of the user guide:
3D accelerated video with DirectX 10 with OpenGL 3.3 for Windows Vista and later [YES: Windows 10 64-bit] as the guest OS. DirectX 10 requires OSX 10.10 or later [YES: 10.10.4] on the host and hardware version 12 [YES] and later. DirectX 10 also requires a GPU version of Intel HD4000 or later [YES: Intel HD6000], Nvidia GeForce 650M or later, or AMD Radeon HD 5750 or later.
And yet it doesn’t work. I only get DirectX9 & OpenGL 2.1. The support guys won’t help as it is an evaluation, but without OpenGL 3+ it’s no good to me so no point buying. I have trawled through google, the knowledgebase, the VMWare community posts and so on, but can’t find any pointers. There is one quite helpful post where various contributors dig into log files but the problems seem very specific to each case. I put a post up on the community forum describing the problem complete with logs but so far no response.
I understand that you’re trying to pull off something pretty complex here. Parallels haven’t got there in 3 years of trying from what I can ascertain. But given such a big deal has been made the new accelerated graphics support I’m surprised at how hard it is to get going. Maybe I’m not holding my tongue in the right position?
