VMware Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry
Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS) / Isolation Segment (ISO)
- App syslog drains now support Mutual TLS and Internal certificate authorities
- Breaking changes:
- Default stack changed to cflinux4
- Newly pushed apps will use cflinux4
- Support for cflinux3 will be removed in a future release
- Java buildpack 4.62.0 removes Spring AutoReconfiguration library for Spring Boot 3 applications which was deprecated in May 2022.
- Option for human-readable syslog was removed and all logs now use RFC3339 format timestamp.
- Max request header size is now 48KB, any requests for headers larger than this will return a 431 status code. You can still configure this setting to a value up to 1024 KB in the networking tab.
- Ruby and Python have been removed from the cflinux4 stack. New versions of the PHP and Java buildpacks have been introduced to run on top of the stack if it no longer includes the required interpreter.

Tanzu Application Service for VMs[Windows] (TASW)
- Windows Stemcell v2019.79 has been removed from Broadcom Support because of an incompatibility found in the Windows Updates included and the winc component used in the Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry Windows. VMware Tanzu Greenplum
- VMware Greenplum 7.3.2 is a maintenance release that resolves several issues.
- Resolves race conditions in autovacuum during temporary table cleanup.
- Resolves database panic issue that occurred when the system ran out of memory.
- Resolves the permission issue for the /var/log/gpv directory encountered during the initialization of the postmaster service.
VMware Tanzu Platform Spring Essentials
Spring Cloud Gateway for VMware Tanzu
- For users upgrading from versions prior to 2.2.0, please be advised that version 2.2.0 introduced an upgrade to the Gateway’s Hazelcast session state store, and upgrading through this version results in the loss of session state. More information can be found in the 2.2.0 release notes.
- Enhancements included in this release:
- RestrictGraphQLType filter (restricts GraphQL operations by user role)
- Improvements to OpenAPI generation error handling

Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry on Windows – Nov 2024 Stemcell (2019.79) Issue Causing Stuck/Hung BOSH Deployments on Windows Diego Cells – There is a compatibilty issue between Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry on Windows, and Windows stemcell 2019.79. Check the article for the details.
BBR fails with “Deployment cf -xxxx has no backup scripts” – This error occurs if your CF deployment is missing the backup_restore VM. Check the article for details.
VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Integrated Edition (TKGI)
Error: “Client certificate not found in trust store ErrorCode:99” returned from NSX Manager after appliance failover – TKGI clusters are inaccessible via VIP. Clusters might show stuck “in progress” state. This issue might impact services that utilize NCP to manage NSX-T environments running below version 4.1.2, including TKGI, and TAS.
