In this section, we will add releases information on Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry, Tanzu Platform for Kubernetes, Tanzu Data Services, and Tanzu Spring Essentials Products that are part of Tanzu Platform and Standalone solutions along with its release date and release notes. VMware Tanzu Platform
VMware Tanzu Application Platform (TAP)
- While processing workloads with large SBOMs, the Cartographer Convention controller manager pod can fail with the status CrashLoopBackOff or OOMKilled.
- A renewed CA certificate might not get updated in the CA section of Envoy and Contour certificate’s secrets.
- Supply Chain Security Tools – Policy defaults to The Update Framework (TUF) enabled due to incorrect logic. This might cause the package to not reconcile correctly if the default TUF mirrors are not reachable.
- SCST – Scan 1.0 fails because of a mismatch between the Syft Schema version of SBOM provided by Tanzu Build Service and the installed Grype scanner.
- When using Supply Chain Security Tools (SCST) – Scan 2.0 with a ClusterImageTemplate, the value for the scanning image is overwritten with an incorrect default value.
- The Snyk scanner outputs an incorrectly created date, resulting in an invalid date.
- Recurring scan has a maximum of approximately 5000 container images that can be scanned at a single time due to size limits configMaps.
- When outputting CycloneDX v1.5 SBOMs, the report is found to be an invalid SBOM by CycloneDX validators. This issue is planned to be fixed in a future release.
- When using Let’s Encrypt ACME issuers, the resultant Kubernetes secret resource does not contain a ca.crt property.
- Ad-blocking browser extensions and standalone ad-blocking software can interfere with telemetry collection within the VMware Customer Experience Improvement Program and restrict access to all or parts of Tanzu Developer Portal.

VMware Tanzu for Postgres on Cloud Foundry
- Replaced pg_auto_failover with Patroni to manage high availability (HA) for the PostgreSQL service
- Replaced open-source PostgreSQL v15.8 with VMware Postgres v16.6
VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ for Kubernetes
- Updated packages and dependencies: Open-Source RabitMQ, Erlang, Cluster Operator, Message Topology Operator
- Open-source RabbitMQ version 3.13.8 is a maintenance release in the 3.13.x release series.
VMware Tanzu Platform Spring Essentials
Spring Cloud Services for VMware Tanzu (SCS)
- Addresses CVE-2024-47072 by upgrading xstream version
- Upgrades dependencies: Spring Boot, Routing, Backup and Restore SDK, PXC, BPM, Stemcell

VMware Tanzu Application Service (TAS)
Nats Connection Failures Cause 404s for Running Apps – When NATS servers get overwhelmed they close and then re-establish connections with the other NATS nodes. However, there is a bug in the reconnection algorithm that can result in the nodes never reconnecting. We suspect that this is the root cause of this bug. VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Integrated Edition (TKGI)
TKGI Worker node in failing state in bosh due to csi-node-registrar in “Does not exist” status – Network disconnects between nodes might cause this condition. Check the article for details.
