Mary Washington Healthcare on VMware Technical Adoption Management Services

Mary Washington Healthcare is a non-profit healthcare system serving Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the surrounding area for the past 120 years. They are comprised of two hospitals, three emergency departments, and over 40 outpatient facilities. The IT staff at Mary Washington Healthcare is so dedicated to the health and well-being of their patients that they volunteered to support the monumental efforts of vaccination clinics during the global pandemic.

As a valued VMware customer, Mary Washington Healthcare is an early adopter of technologies such as VMware Cloud Foundation™, VMware Live Cyber Recovery™, VMware Cloud™ on AWS, and VMware NSX®. They run VMware Horizon® to support their remote workers and clinical staff. They are making big strides in the realm of VMware Aria Operations™ and VMware Aria Automation™. Their IT team is always aware of current happenings and works closely with their TAM to keep the organization apprised of new features and functions that can help them streamline and support the business processes of the healthcare system.

We had a chance to meet with Michael Miller, Enterprise Technical Architect, Mary Washington Healthcare, who shared his experience with VMware Technical Adoption Management Services.

“He’s [VMware Staff Technical Adoption Manager, Chris Poyner] been with us since 2019. He’s almost like an extension to our team” says, Michael Miller.

A key initiative TAMs take with their customers is to help them utilize all the features of their VMware technology investments in support of their business objectives. To do so, TAMs familiarize themselves with their customer’s environment and guide them on how best to leverage their VMware technology to accomplish their goals.

“So really getting that full-fledged support of the product to be able to use it 100%… I could go from three pieces of software down to one. That’s allowed me to save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year,” says Miller.
