The team of subject matter experts who help write, review, and shape VMware certification programs bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them. We hope you enjoy these insights into why they have chosen to spend their time making VMware Certifications the best in the industry.
This month, we’re speaking with Marc Huppert, VCDX #181 who has spent 18 years in the IT industry.
What is your background? I am a Senior Consultant at ComputacenterDE responsible for technical designs, implementation standards and architecture guidelines. I am the technical leadership of VMware Solutions at Computacenter and also a VMware Certified Instructor (VCI) since several years, teaching internally and externally. Often I get invited to be a guest speaker at customer events.
What do you think makes for a great testing experience?
I think it is the best way to test people’s knowledge in real world live exams, where they must fix things. I really love the VCAP Deploy [VMware Certified Advanced Professional Deployment] exams. You must know what you are doing!
Why did you get involved in the VMware Certification Contributor program?
Passing my VCDX [VMware Certified Design Expert] was big goal for me, but it does not stop there. It is just one step in my journey. I love to share knowledge and influence upcoming exams. It is a way to shape the future of VMware certifications.
What is the most desirable facet of the program?
I learn every day, at customer sites or when I teach VMware classes. I really like taking certification exams and prove myself. I want to give back knowledge/experience and it is a great honor for me to be part of this awesome community.
How have you benefitted from the program?
I get insights into the certification process and I would not have my current job without all these VMware certifications that I earned. I cannot teach a VMware class without knowing what is asked within the corresponding exam.
