Make Your Operations as Innovative as Your Architecture

By SUNNY DUA
Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware

When you started your journey to the cloud, you left no stone unturned to ensure that everything you chose to build your cloud was state of the art. You built a tier-3 data center. Bought the best-in-class hardware. Invested in game-changing software. Paid millions to build a Google-like architectures to mimic the success it had with IT being an enabler for its business.

Many times as organizations plan a cloud roll out, the implementation and integration of technology is top of mind.  However, we all know that technology is just one wheel of the cart. People and processes have an equal role to play. To obtain the agility and ROI for which you adopted cloud in the first place, you have to break primitive operations mindsets and ensure your operations are as innovative to your architecture.

As important as organizational and operational transformation are in rolling out a private or hybrid cloud, it’s often an afterthought in the planning process.  In my work with VMware customers as a Sr. Member of the VMware Technical Staff, the customers that are the most successful focus as much on breaking down silos, building new skillsets and streamlining common processes as they do architecting and implementing their technology solution.

If you will be in Las Vegas for VMworld next week, I’ll be exploring this topic along with Sudharsan SV, Service Manager, Cognizant Technology Solutions, in our session “Operationalize Your World: Moving Operations Closer to Your Architectures”.  During this session, we will give you best practices for success and help bring your outdated operations closure to your innovative architectures.

The session will be on Monday, August 28th at 5:30 PMAdd this to your agenda via Schedule Builder. Additional session details are below.
