Extending the Cisco Certification Credit for Network Virtualization Certification

We spend a lot of time talking to our community of certification-holders about our programs, their structure and their future. One of the more common conversations we’ve had lately is around the “credit” that Cisco certification-holders get towards a VMware Network Virtualization Certification.

Currently, if you hold certain CCNA or CCNP certifications you can use that as credit to bypass course attendance requirement when you earn VMware Certified Professional 6 – Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV) certification (you still have to pass the exams). Also, if you have certain CCIE certifications, you can apply it towards our VMware Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX-NV) certification. Both of these options are scheduled to expire on January 31, 2016.

However, after talking to a number of candidates we have decided to remove the deadline and make this an ongoing streamlined route to VMware Network Virtualization certification. By keeping this path and policy in-place we believe that we can continue to enable networking professionals with existing networking skills in the latest cutting-edge networking technologies from VMware and help them continue to build upon and drive their careers.

This new policy is effective immediately.

Thank you!
