VCDX Workshop Online Webinar

VCDX merchLast week I announced the first online VCDX Workshop for 2015 would be held on Friday, March 13th, 2015.  Yes, I picked that date on purpose….I just wanted to see what might happen. I wanted to take a minute just to set expectations for this versus the live, in-person sessions. I wanted to also thank Joe Silvagi for stepping up to help host this and manage the chat window during the session. The abstract for both the live and online sessions is roughly the same as stated below

VCDX Workshop Abstract:

VMware Certified Design Experts (VCDXs) are an elite group of architects leading virtualization implementations around the world. Certification is achieved through the Design Defense where all candidates must submit and successfully defend a production-ready VMware Solution before a panel of veteran VCDX-holders. This highly interactive session is a complete and engaging deep dive into the VCDX Process providing tips and success strategies for:

  • solution design selection and development
  • the VCDX application and supporting documentation
  • creation and delivery of the design overview
  • the VCDX design scenario
  • the VCDX troubleshooting scenario

If you are pursuing the VCDX certification, the VCDX Workshop is the perfect start to your journey.

Online VCDX Workshop Difference:

When we do these live, it is VERY interactive in portions. We leverage multiple VCDX presenters to help facilitate and do Q&A. We also spend more time in-person, doing this over 4 hours. The online one in March is my first attempt to deliver one via WebEx. The first thing we needed to do was cut this in half – mostly because we will not be able to be as interactive in sections. We wanted to use the time to present the bulk of the information that is also presented in the live sessions, but account for the lack of face-to-face interaction.

Also, for this first try we are only doing one time slot and will try to record it. Based on feedback we want to try and present these once per quarter, and hold a couple for different time zones. As of the time I wrote this post I was happy to see that there are already 168 registered attendees, so I am hoping all of those people make it to the session. I will tally the registered vs attendees after the event.

We have no cap for the number of attendees at this time so Register Now and come see what the process is all about. Also be sure to provide feedback so we can make the next one better. Also be sure to check out the current schedule of live VCDX Workshop sessions announced to be held the day before major VMUG events.
