VMware EMEA Instructor Award Winners

Each quarter, the VMware EMEA Education team recognizes outstanding VMware Certified Instructors (VCIs) from the region. The “VCI of the Quarter” and “VCI Certificate of Achievement” awards are given to instructors who share their expertise about VMware technologies with others, show consistent excellence in customer evaluation scores, and have an ability to help students make the most of their VMware technology. 

2012 Winners

Frank Brix Pedersen of Arrow ECS in Denmark whose notable achievement was to be amongst the first worldwide to deliver the VMware vCloud: Deploy and Manage the VMware Cloud [V1.5] course one of our most complex courses. He also maintains a personal blog and twitter account focusing on virtualisation at http://www.vfrank.org/

Eric Sloof has been working in the information technology for nearly 20 years and has built up an extensive expertise in virtualized environments, storage and networking. His website http://www.ntpro.nl is recognised globally. He has delivered 11 classes this quarter on subjects as diverse as View, vCloud, SRM in addition to the core vSphere training. Eric has also participated in several beta certification programs like IaaS and VACP5-DCA. He also joined the beta programs for vSphere 5.1 and vCloud Director 5.1. In the past three months, Eric has recorded several instructional videos on how to manage and configure vCloud Director and manage load balancing.

Calin Damian Tanase delivered nine classes in the Q1 with near perfect scores for knowledge and presentation. One of the first trainers to deliver the View 5.0 ICM, IBM Romania nominated Calin for this award and said “We constantly receive highly appreciated feedback from our customers regarding Calin’s deliveries & contribution to help them understand concepts and progress in their environments. All of them appreciate his in-depth, in-field experience. That is beside the high evaluation scores he constantly gets.”

Alasdair Carnie has run 11 classes including Architecting the Cloud in Q1 with near perfect scores for presentation and knowledge. Alasdair has always be one of the first VCI in EMEA to deliver our new classes and has already delivered the new SRM 5.0 ICM class. He has managed to plan, implement and install their own VDC in a nested environment, and has been incredibly helpful in posting new ideas and feedback on changes that need to be made to our courseware.

Maxim Moshkov delivered the most classes in the last six months with 16 classes, including the new Optimize and Scale class, site recovery manager and View. Maxim is well known among Russian & CIS customers and partners. His professional reputation is reinforced his popularity in the Internet community and media space. He is the author of numerous publications on social and humanitarian themes on the Internet, he often speaks on Russian TV (promoting reading, the availability of good literature for socially vulnerable people).

Matthias Eisner from Austria wins the award for being consistently amongst the first to deliver new VMware courses. Not only does he lead the way on new courses for VCM, Vcops and the vSphere optimize and scale but he also consistently scored a perfect 5 on evaluation scores. One of his students wrote of Matthias in the evaluation “motivated and sexy, as always”

Philip Badnell from the UK wins the award for the best evaluations. In his last 12 classes he has scored perfect fives in all three evaluation categories on nine separate occasions.  Some of the comments include, “Phil was a great instructor with infectious enthusiasm for his subject matter. He actively encouraged questions and discussions within the group.” and “Phil knew the material, and his delivery was excellent.  He made the hours pass quickly.”
