We’re excited to announce the release of VMware vRealize Network Insight 5.0, which introduces a bunch of new features! The anchor features of this release are new integrations with VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud and Public Cloud Azure. Other major features include Network Flow Round Trip Time (RTT) metrics with NSX-T, Kubernetes topologies and application discovery and much more that makes this product so powerful and rich with data; let’s take a deep dive into 5.0!
Data Sources
Data is life to vRealize Network Insight. It ingests data from all kinds of different devices, virtual, physical, cloud, and then correlates all this data to make it useful. The more data sources it has, the more value it will provide.
VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN Support
With vRealize Network Insight 5.0, we’re happy to add VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud to the ecosystem of data sources. Get full visibility of your VeloCloud Enterprise; see it in context of the entire infrastructure, instantly see which applications are being accessed at each VeloCloud branch/site including flow and traffic analysis, the health of the VeloCloud Edges, and the network topology from the VeloCloud site/branch to the data center, and more.
As seen below we can see the network topology from an end user at a VeloCloud branch/site accessing an application running in the data center. The path topology includes full visibility of both the underlay and overlay network including the VeloCloud Edges and Hubs.
We can also see the underlay and overlay network topology of a hybrid application that incorporates VeloCloud SD-WAN to provide connectivity to various public cloud providers. This not only helps user understand how their applications are communicating but becomes a powerful day-2 ops tool to troubleshooting the business infrastructure.
Look at any VeloCloud Application dashboard to see detailed information such as flows, traffic metrics, packet metrics, and which edges are accessing the application.
Microsoft Azure Support
On the subject of data sources; 5.0 also adds support for Microsoft Azure Public Cloud. Along with AWS and VMC, vRealize Network Insight now extends network visibility, application security, migration planning, and troubleshooting to Microsoft Azure!
Below we can see the various search options available in vRealize Network Insight 5.0 for Microsoft Azure. Using the search feature within vRealize Network Insight enables you to quickly locate the data you need within your Azure infrastructure.
You can also view the Azure Subscription dashboard which contains a wealth of information all in one dashboard!
