Getting More Out of vRealize Automation: Putting the “Ops” in DevOps

By: Ryan Cartwright, VMware Senior Systems Engineer & Ryan Kelly, VMware Staff Systems Engineer

On August 10th, we will be hosting a Getting More Out of vRealize Automation webinar called Putting the Ops in DevOps!

Developers are under increased pressure to deliver more at a faster pace to keep up with the competition. At the same time the vRealize Automation and vSphere admins have strict company policy to adhere to. Traditionally our answer to developers was to just give them Virtual Machines. That is not exactly what a developer wants.

Different Personas

In this session, we will uncover the two worlds of “The Developer” and the vRA vSphere admin. The Developer wants a command line driven world with access to tools such as Jenkins, Mesos, and APIs. The vRA vSphere admin is familiar with performing administrative tasks from the user interface of vRealize Automation and the vSphere Web Client.

What to Expect?

Do you want to make your developers happy and win their trust and business? Do you want to make your developers love you again?

Or, are you a developer that works at a VMware shop and you just want command line REST API access to your infrastructure? Do you want to learn how the vRA7 REST API works?

In this session, we will show the typical infrastructure admins how to create a developer friendly blueprint. For developer folks, we will show you how to consume one of these blueprints using the REST API with Curl.
