What’s New with VCF Learning: A Recap

How can you take your IT career to the next level? Earning a VMware certification is a great place to start!

The participants of our recent “What’s New with VCF Learning” webinar agreed – 75% of attendees had already earned at least one VMware certification.

Our Technical Learning Engineers and webinar hosts Tim Burkard and Joe Cooper dove into VCF Learning and our latest program updates, inviting VMware learners to join us on our new journey. Read on for a recap of their discussion and find out how IT professionals can expand their skills for the private cloud with VCF Learning.

The next phase of VCF Learning

The webinar began with Tim and Joe discussing how VMware Learning has been integrated into VMware Cloud Foundation following the acquisition by Broadcom. As part of this change, our Learning portfolio is now focused on VMware Cloud Foundation, the cloud operating model that combines the scale and agility of public cloud with the security and performance of private cloud essential for today’s cloud professionals. The VCF Learning team is dedicated to delivering the most current and comprehensive training for the entire VCF stack, including vSphere, vSAN, VMware Aria, VMware NSX, and more. As a result, you and your organization will have access to the latest VCF solutions and technologies.

  • Foundational Courses: For career changers and IT professionals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of VMware VCF technologies and solutions.
  • Advanced Courses: Designed to enhance expertise and develop specific skills relevant to your role.
  • Partner Specific Courses: Courses that meet the needs of the Broadcom Advantage Program requirements.

With all of our courses and certifications available within the VCF umbrella, IT professionals will be able to find training content that fills their private cloud knowledge gaps and enables teams to adapt to changing market conditions and launch new products and services more quickly. In fact, even Tim and Joe are taking advantage of VCF Learning’s new structure to bolster their skills in VMware Aria Operations, Automation, and more!

“I’m starting to learn Aria Operations,” Joe explained, “There are so many opportunities for us to really dive deep into each of these products.”

When it comes to VMware certification, students can choose from four levels: VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), and VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX). They can also select from five tracks: Data Center Virtualization, Network Virtualization, Cloud Management and Automation, Security, and Application Modernization.

These paths enable IT professionals to choose the training most relevant to their personal and professional ambitions and develop skills that provide the most value to their teams and organizations.

Updates to Our Portfolio and Offerings

During the webinar, Joe Cooper demonstrated the capabilities of our new VCF Learning platform, which is now available to all currently subscribed VCF customers.

Through the platform, IT professionals have access to an extensive digital library of VCF training, including on demand content that is now complimentary for all Broadcom Advantage Partners and VCF customers. This valuable resource enables learners to access course material and develop their skills regardless of whether they can attend an instructor-led course.

In conjunction with the new platform, Joe and Tim unveiled our updated certification requirements. Learners now no longer need to complete a pre-requisite training course to take a certification exam. This recent change to earning a VMware certification offers increased flexibility to demonstrate your skills and participate in continuous learning and education.

To distinguish candidates who earned certification through prerequisites from those who took their exam based on experience, new certification version badges were also discussed.

To further streamline the certification process and make professional development accessible to even more individuals and organizations, all VCTA, VCP, and VCAP exams are now offered for a standardized exam fee of $250.

Tim Burkard also demonstrated the recently launched Certification Manager 2.0, the new and improved version of our Certification Manager Portal. With our new platform, you can manage certifications, access resources, and track your career development even more efficiently than before.
