VCP Spotlight – Michelle Goossens

Nineteen-year-old Michelle Goossens has just become a VMware Certified Professional (VCP). She earned her VCP certification in August 2021 on her first attempt, which is a fantastic achievement for anyone of any age!

How did she prepare? “I have a home lab and I used that to learn VMware products, and I more or less do it as a hobby.”

Michelle grew up around the family IT business. Technology has always been a part of her life, which fuelled her passion for IT from a young age. She believes that the future of tech is “migrating to the cloud” and toward Kubernetes.

Michelle recommends to others who are pursuing a VCP to “learn in the way that works for you, whether that be reading or visual, or hands on through Hands-on Labs.” Most of all, Michelle urges VCP hopefuls to enjoy the process.

The world of tech is an ever-changing landscape, and VCPs like Michelle are preparing for the challenges that lay ahead.

Michelle’s next chapter is searching for her dream career. She’s confident that her VCP certification will help her stand out from the crowd.

Do you have what it takes to earn a VCP certification? There are four different levels of certification for every kind of IT professional, so there’s bound to be a track that’s right for you. For more information, check out these VMware Learning VMworld sessions.
