Vendors fall into one of the four quadrants based on how they are positioned along two axes: ability to execute and completeness of vision.

For the first time, AirWatch was rated the highest on both axes in this Magic Quadrant. According to Sanjay Poonen, our EVP and GM of End-User Computing at VMware, that is because AirWatch takes a different approach to mobility.

“Enterprise mobility is quickly moving from a tactical management product, to a strategic enabler of apps and services to every endpoint, empowering end-users to work at the speed of life,” said Sanjay. “We believe Gartner recognizes this new way of approaching mobility, and feel that our VMware Workspace ONE solution is the tool to deliver on this mobile revolution.”

Recently, AirWatch has undergone rapid innovations to evolve into a secure and simple digital workspace platform. Workspace ONE, VMware Identity Manager, VMware Boxer, Azure Active Directory and Mobile Security Alliance integrations with AirWatch have strengthened and expanded the platform’s robust EMM capabilities in the last year alone.

“This evolution echoes what we have seen and heard from our customers who are gravitating towards a new way of doing business by bringing together all apps across every endpoint in their organization for a consumer simple user experience,” said Noah Wasmer, our SVP of Mobile Products at VMware.

“We are honored and humbled that we are in this position on the Magic Quadrant—but our innovation doesn’t stop here,” said Noah. “Our partners and customers can expect us to continue this rapid pace of innovation to build and deliver delightful and innovative solutions that drive their digital workspace transformation.”
