Last summer, VMware introduced enterprise chat to the Socialcast social collaboration platform, a secure solution to meet the increasing demand for instant messaging in the enterprise. Today, VMware introduces a new user experience on Socialcast with even more robust chat features for both the web and mobile apps.

The new Socialcast user interface helps users speed up workflows and collaboration with simplified navigation and intelligent sorting. Users can quickly search for every conversation they have on Socialcast, both group and one-to-one chats, on the redesigned left navigation bar. Conversations with new activity rise to the top so users can focus on what matters most as soon as they log in from their desktop or mobile device.
Socialcast 7.0 for web and Socialcast 4.0 for mobile also provides users with more ways to stay on top of what’s happening in chat. Users can @mention others in group chats, which triggers a notification for the recipient. Users can also like, bookmark, edit and delete chat messages, making it easier to track threads, projects and updates in context.
