AirWatch and SAP are making life easier for SAP Mobile app Customers

By Mimi Spier, Sr. Director Strategy and Business Development, Business Mobility at VMware

Today, we’re excited to announce that SAP joined ACE (App Configuration for Enterprise) to simplify how their customers configure and deploy mobile apps. SAP and VMware will work to integrate the ACE approach to enable secure, instant deployment and login of SuccessFactors and Concur mobile applications on iOS and Android devices.

The reality with mobility in business: There are a number of factors that can slow or impede a mobility deployment. One of the common ones we hear from customers is complexity in application registration for end users. The biggest pain points are difficulties for the enterprise to roll out and secure applications and for end users to configure and re-login on each use.

For SAP customers, that will soon not be an issue anymore. By leveraging the ACE approach, SAP is now leveraging the native iOS and Android operating systems functionality to set up auto-configuration, single sign-on, per-app VPN and security requirements.

For IT, this means that deploying enterprise applications is much simpler and more streamlined. IT can leverage existing investments in enterprise mobility management, identity and VPN solutions – lowing the total cost of ownership for their mobile strategy.

For users, this means instant productivity on SAP mobile apps (specifically Concur and SuccessFactors) with no configuration or login necessary.

ACE launched at Mobile World Congress 2015 and today has more than 40 members, including several Apple Mobility Partners. For more of the latest information on ACE, follow Mimi Spier and check out the ACE website.
