In this video I’m joined by Chris Colotti, Field CTO at Cohesity to discuss the VMware Cloud Director integration for Cohesity Data Management as a Service offerings, primarily backup and restore. Cohesity is a multi-tenant solution that maps to existing VCD customer orgs to be able to offer them different tiers of service for their data management service.

The plugin is free and very comprehensive, we really little need to a customer to access Cohesity natively, however if the customer wants more detailed logs and dashboards Cohesity is just a click away without being challenged for authentication.

One of the really neat capabilities is that all backup images are fully hydrated; incremental backups are merged with a clone of the last full backup, therefore providing an instant restore capabilities to your tenants.

Keeping a broad portfolio of infrastructure offerings is important to remain relevant to your customers, and with ever growing infrastructure and automation of infrastructure, it is essential customers are in charge of their own destiny for data management.
