Today, VMware is announcing the upcoming release of version 5.1 of both vRealize Network Insight and vRealize Network Insight Cloud. This next version of vRealize Network Insight will build on the momentum of the 5.0 release and include additional capabilities to help you discover, optimize and troubleshoot application security and network connectivity, no matter where the application lives – data center, cloud or even the branch.

The upcoming release will enhance network visibility for hybrid clouds and SD-WAN by introducing an SDDC focused Dashboard for VMware Cloud on AWS and a new Assessment for SD-WAN.

As you know, vRealize Network Insight 5.0 brought SD-WAN capabilities into the product, realizing our vision of Data Center, to Cloud, to Branch. In the same spirit as our Virtual Network Assessment for NSX, version 5.1 brings a SD-WAN Assessment. This SD-WAN Assessment will analyze traffic and data from a current non-virtualized WAN network and will calculate a return-on-investment (ROI) for when the WAN network is virtualized into SD-WAN.

This release will also include enhanced VMware Cloud on AWS dashboard with software defined data center (SDDC) context and support for VMware Cloud on AWS Edge firewall providing firewall rules visibility and rules to flow mapping.

Another enhancement in the upcoming release of vRealize Network Insight will be additional Application Day-2 Operation capabilities such as health summary, and ability to troubleshoot using degraded flows and traffic analytics, seen directly in the Application Dashboard.

And finally, for many of our customers who use vRealize Network Insight to optimize and troubleshoot physical and virtual networks, you will be very pleased to note that the upcoming release will include physical device NAT support in VM-VM path visibility and support for Arista hardware VTEP.

Last but not least, this vRealize Network Insight release will provide enhancement to NSX-T day-2 operations management with new visualization of deployed and impacted components.
