Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is changing as part of this migration effort?

A: As part of this migration effort, the VMware Cloud Services will be migrating to Broadcom systems to promote a more unified user experience across all Broadcom systems.

Q: When will the migration occur?

A: On October 3 (8pm PST), the VMware Cloud Services Portal will be updated to Read-Only mode. On October 6 (at approximately 6am PST) the VMware Cloud Services Portal will begin redirecting to the new Cloud Services Console on Broadcom.

Q: What services are affected by this change?

A: The VMware Cloud Services Portal, VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Live Recovery, and VCF Solutions Catalog (formerly VMware Marketplace).

Q: Will there be any expected downtime to the VMware Cloud Services Portal, VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Live Recovery, and VCF Solutions Catalog (formerly VMware Marketplace) during the migration?

A: On October 3 (8pm PST), the VMware Cloud Services Portal will be updated to Read-Only mode. During this time users will still be able to login to access their VLR, VMC product instances; however, all other functions (Account, Org , User modifications) will no longer be available.  VMware Cloud Services (Cloud Services Console, VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Live Recovery) will be undergoing maintenance between the hours of 8am PST and 10am PST on Sunday October 5, 2025. During this time customers may experience intermittent issues accessing these services. For VMware Cloud on AWS, there will be no impact to customer workloads.

Q: Will I have to recreate my Cloud Console user profile in the new system?

A: Because the VMware Cloud Services Console uses the same user authentication technology as the new Cloud Services Console on Broadcom, there are no actions required to access the new portal once it’s live. Your login credentials and permissions will all be migrated to the new system to ensure a seamless transition. Upon first login, users will be required to enter their password and multi-factor authentication to access the new system.

Please note that VMware Cloud Services Console users that have existing profiles associated with non-corporate domains (i.e gmail.com, hotmail.com, etc.) will NOT be migrated to the new Cloud Services Console on Broadcom, as these domains are not supported in Broadcom systems.

Q: Will the Organization (tenant) Hold functionality change as part of this migration?

A: Yes, the Organization Hold functionality (*VMC and VLR products only) will transition from the existing Broadcom Support Portal / Fulfillment Dashboard to the new Cloud Services Console on Broadcom. Organization Owners will have the ability to release tenant holds and move those into pre-existing Organizations or create new Organizations. In addition, any tenants that are on-hold prior to the migration will be transitioned to the Cloud Services Console on Broadcom.

Q: Will there be any anticipated downtime during the migration from the VMware Cloud Services Console to the Cloud Services Console on Broadcom?

A: VMware Cloud Services (Cloud Services Console, VMware Cloud on AWS, VMware Live Recovery) will be undergoing maintenance between the hours of 8am PST and 10am PST on Sunday October 5, 2025. During this time customers may experience intermittent issues accessing these services. For VMware Cloud on AWS, there will be no impact to customer workloads.
