As of today, VMware officially launched the 5.0 release of vSphere.
There were of course many new storage features announced, such as Storage DRS & Profile Driven Storage as well as many enhancements to already existing vSphere storage features like VMFS-5 and vSphere Storage APIs for Array Integration, commonly referred to as VAAI.
Also VMware announced the launch of the vSphere Storage Appliance (VSA).
Over the coming weeks & indeed months, I will endeavour to give you further insight into many of these new and enhanced features, as well as a deeper understanding of VMware's storage vision.
