- Les trois mousquetaires : Horizon 7, Workspace One et Horizon Air -Les annonces de VMWare ce mardi 9 Février 2016 feront sans doute date. En effet, ce ne sont pas juste des généralités et de la continuité dans l’effort auquel nous avons eu droit aujourd’hui, mais ni plus ni moins que 2 nouveaux produits et une mise à jour majeure. Avec Workspace One, Horizon 7 et Horizon Air, la société frappe fort et affiche très clairement ses ambition dans le poste de travail virtuel partout, tout le temps, avec son accroche marketing « The Digital Workspace Strategy ». En effet, on comprend désormais parfaitement le rachat de Air Watch à la lumière de cette orientation.
- VMWare VSAN 6.2 ! – Après une journée particulièrement chargée et très riche en annonces autour du « Digital Desktop », hier, VMWare remet le couvert ce Mercredi pour présenter la nouvelle version de VSAN qui passe de 6.1 à 6.2. Derrière cet progression d’indice relativement modeste ce cache en réalité des avancées MAJEURES tant en terme de fonctionnalités pures qu’en terme de technologie. Faisons le tour des nouveautés.
- VSAN vient-il d’écraser ses concurrents ? – L’annonce récente de VSAN 6.2 provoque actuellement un petit ras-de-marée au sein de la communauté Twitter VMWare. Nul doute que les nouvelles possibilités offertes par cette version rende ce composant de la suite « Enteprise Virtualization » de plus en plus attirante et de plus en plus crédible, en comparaison de … de beaucoup de monde en fait. Cela m’amène à quelques réflexions au sujet des 3/4 ans à venir, qui me paraissent difficiles voir sombre pour certains, de mon point de vue.
