We are thrilled to announce that VMware has been named a Leader in the latest Forrester Wave™: Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Q4 2023. As the hyperconverged infrastructure industry (HCI) evolves, we view this recognition as a reflection of VMware’s continued innovation and adaptation of vSAN to meet growing customer needs around performance, scalability, hybrid cloud deployments and storage disaggregation. A recent example of our commitment is our announcement of vSAN Max, delivering petabyte-scale disaggregated storage for vSphere built on vSAN Express Storage Architecture.
In this assessment of the top vendors in the HCI market, VMware received the highest score in the Market Presence category and among the highest in the Current Offering category. Within the criteria of the current offering category, VMware received the highest scores possible in the security and operations criteria. It received the highest score in the Scalability and cloud criterion and tied for the highest score in the Compute and network criterion. Within the Strategy category, VMware also received the highest scores possible in the following criteria: Roadmap; Partner Ecosystem; Pricing flexibility and transparency; and Community.
The Forrester report states, “VMware maintains its edge with strong hybrid cloud functionality,” and notes that VMware “has reimagined its vSAN 8 offering for improved performance, cloud functionality, and scalability.” We’re proud of the recognition of our innovations and excited for what comes next.
Forrester notes that as infrastructure leaders navigate managing complex environments that need to support a variety of workloads across a multitude of data center and clouds, they should seek HCI solutions that offer disaggregated scaling of storage and compute resources; advanced snapshot and replication capabilities; and comprehensive virtualized network function (VNF) support.
