#StorageMinute: What’s New in SRM 8.2

Welcome to the #StorageMinute series where we deliver topics via bite-size content. In this edition, we will take a look at a few of the coolest new features in SRM 8.2.

SRM is now available as an appliance!

SRM 8.2 is available as either an MS windows installable or as a Photon OS based, OVF deployed, appliance. The appliance has all the same features and functionality of the windows version. For more details, see this blog.

vROps Management Packs

SRM 8.2 supports an enhanced and updated vROps management pack that makes it possible to monitor the status and quantity of protected VMs, the state of protection groups and recovery plans and the availability and connectivity of SRM servers.

vSphere Replication 8.2 has a brand new vROps management pack that gives you the ability to track the status of incoming and outgoing replications (health, quantity, transferred data), RPO violations, and replication usage

More details on these management packs are available here.

UI for Configuration Import/Export

SRM 8.1 introduced the ability to export and import the complete SRM configuration. The import/export tool provided a way to protect and recover the configuration of SRM. SRM 8.2 has introduced a GUI for the configuration import/export tool which makes it much easier to use.
