Top Ten VMware Explore Storage Sessions

There are a lot of storage sessions this year at VMware Explore in Las Vegas. If you’re looking for suggestions on which you should attend, I’ve put together a list of the top 10 sessions I recommend. Hear from some great speakers like Pete Koehler, Duncan Epping, Cody Hosterman, and Chance Bingen. As well as VMware leaders Vijay Ramachandran and Sazzala Reddy speaking on Cyber Secure Storage. Of course, a few are my session, 😉 but there are several that have great technical and future content. There are a few sessions on vSphere Virtual Volumes (vVols) you should definitely look into. Make sure you save a seat and get these added to your schedule ASAP.

vSphere Virtual Volumes for Scalability, BC/DR and Performance for Workloads with Pure Storage [VMTN2864LV]

VMware vSphere Virtual Volumes take advantage of native capabilities of external storage by implementing an integration and management framework, giving granular control of virtual disks through the implementation of a policy-based framework. The VMware software-defined storage vision is built on assigning policies to virtual machines and their VMDK files to appropriately meet the requirements of the most critical workloads. In this session, we will cover storage policy-based management and the vSphere Virtual Volumes architecture, and how they benefit critical workloads (e.g., Oracle) to meet business demands, SLAs, and data protection. Find out how they add capabilities to accomplish traditionally difficult tasks more quickly and easily in virtualized environments. vSphere Virtual Volumes and Pure Storage along with Oracle workloads ensure that key business needs are met along with providing all the above capabilities.
