Supermicro, along with VMware, is proud to announce the launch of a new optimized set of vSAN ReadyNodes featuring Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors and Intel Optane™ SSDs. These new offerings are the latest “Intel Select Solutions” that further expand Supermicro’s leading family of versatile and flexible offerings for vSAN. Further information on the features, benefits, benchmark studies and ordering process of vSAN ReadyNodes, see this link: www.supermicro.com.
vSAN ReadyNodes by Supermicro
Supermicro’s all-flash vSAN ReadyNode solutions fully support vSAN 6.6 and demonstrate the company’s commitment towards making data centers more agile. What started out a little over three years ago as an effort to converge compute and storage into one easy to configure and consume form factor is culminating into a feature rich, flexible and versatile set of offerings capable of handling “any workloads.” The latest vSAN ReadyNodes are based on Supermicro X11 platform comprising of next generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, NVMe technologies and enterprise-proven VMware vSAN 6.6.
vSAN 6.6 offers native HCI encryption and highly-available stretched clusters, along with existing de-duplication and erasure coding features. Combining these features along with all the core reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) features that enterprise customers expect is helping accelerate the shift to hyper-converged infrastructure. Furthermore, customers can deploy the same familiar solution across business-critical workloads, test & dev, tier-3 applications and ROBO environments.
Eliminating Traditional Challenges
Many of our customers in the past have expressed their frustration at how time consuming and confusing traditional storage solutions can be to size, configure and deploy. With Supermicro vSAN ReadyNodes, we have not only made it radically simpler by providing ready-to-consume SKUs, but also added a lot more variety, optimization and flexibility to meet the varying needs of our customer’s workloads.
For example, Supermicro’s all-flash ReadyNodes with 24 NVMe devices in a 2U form factor, 10 NVMe devices in a 1U form factor, and 24 NVMe devices combined in a 2U 4-node form factor provide excellent flexibility and variety. In addition, Supermicro also provides a wide range of storage device configurations (all-flash and hybrid), processors, memory and storage components to meet each customer’s individual needs.
