Announcing the New VMware Virtual SAN IDC Lab Validation Report

Hot off the press: VMware Virtual SAN IDC Lab Validation Report

With the launch of VMware Virtual SAN 6.2, VMware expanded the capabilities of Virtual SAN as a platform and introduced better data efficiency features by delivering deduplication and compression of data as well as providing RAID-5/RAID-6 support for all flash Virtual SAN environments. This IDC Lab Validation Report validates the following key features and functions for Critical Oracle Environments:

  • Deduplication and Compression
  • Erasure Coding & Software Checksum and their ties to SPBM
  • Virtual SAN Availability
  • Virtual SAN Stretched Cluster
  • Virtual SAN Health Service and Performance Service

We could not be more excited to offer this report to our customers because it highlights just how far the 4th generation Virtual SAN has come and just how enterprise ready it is! Some of the more impressive things to look out for are the ease of enabling and disabling deduplication and compression and just how Virtual SAN stretched cluster provides important resiliency levels that ensure VMs remain online after critical failures. We hope that you will be impressed as much as we were!
