Hyperconverged Infrastructure Software-Defined Storage vSAN

Virtual SAN Availability Features and Capabilities in 20 Minutes

VSAN-AVAIL-LogoAs a follow-up to the Virtual SAN 6.2 space efficiency features and capabilities presentation, I shared last week from the “Virtual SAN Take 20 Webcast Series”, here is the second episode where I focused on the overall availability and capabilities features of Virtual SAN.

Remember that the information covered and demonstrated as part of these webcast series, applies to all Virtual SAN Ready Nodes, and the EMC/VCE VXRAIL engineered appliances that are powered by VMware’s Hyper-Converged software stack with Virtual SAN.

As a storage platform, Virtual SAN delivers enterprise-class availability that covers several areas of potential failures including software, hardware, and other potential infrastructure failures to satisfy the availability requirements of the most demanding business-critical applications.

In this episode, I cover the majority of the availability mechanisms in Virtual SAN including built-in and tunable failure tolerance, rack awareness, stretched cluster and replication capabilities.
