The team here at VMware were very proud to see Fusion 8 outperform Parallels 11 and VirtualBox 5 in a recent battery of tests performed by TekRevue.com

VMware Fusion came through on top largely due to our new virtual graphics hardware which outperforms the competition and delivers stunning DirectX 10 and OpenGL 3.3 graphics for all kinds of applications.
“Fusion 8’s superior OpenGL graphics implementation results in a score that’s 66 percent higher than Parallels 11 at 720p, and 92 percent higher at 1080p.”
“[…] Fusion 8 made much larger and more impressive performance gains this year, both compared to its predecessor and in a direct comparison with Parallels.”
Benchmarking an application for comparison is something of an art, and when that application happens to be one designed to run other operating systems, the challenge of testing it many times across many systems can be pretty daunting.
All told there we counted over 700 test runs from 18 categories in total! A huge undertaking for sure, these guys deserve a break.
