We love sharing cool things you can do with VMware Fusion to all our users. Today it’s time to learn how to access your Windows VM or your entire Mac straight from your iPad.
TeamViewer makes it easy to connect to your Mac or PC from your iPad or iPhone and even better, it is free. In fact, it’s so easy, you can do this in four easy steps!
1) Go to the TeamViewer website and download either the Mac or the PC application. We recommend the Mac version so you can access both your Mac and your virtual machines.
2) After installing the TeamViewer software, you’ll receive a unique ID and a temporary password. We recommend setting a custom password in the preferences to make it easy to connect remotely.
3) Download the iPad client from the iOS App Store (there is also an iPhone app available).
4) Enter your ID and password and click “Connect to partner.”
You’re now connected to both your virtual machine and your Mac from your iPad!
It’s easy to access your Mac from the go with the iPad (or iPhone) app from TeamViewer.
We’ve found it particularly useful for checking out restaurant menus on websites that are built in Adobe Flash. If you prefer to only have access to your Windows virtual machine, simply install the Windows Team Viewer in the virtual machine instead of the Mac software for your entire Mac.
Also, TeamViewer makes it really easy to help setup new software (such as VMware Fusion) on a friend or family member’s computer from anywhere in the world.
