VMware vSAN with HPE ProLiant DL325

HPE & VMware have been driving innovation in the Hyper-converged space by providing customers with a broad set of certified vSAN Ready Nodes on HPE platforms. HPE currently has 80+ vSAN 6.7 Ready Nodes supporting multiple platforms as well as both hybrid and all-flash vSAN configurations allowing customers to have a starting point that’s closest to their infrastructure and application requirements. These platforms include HPE DL380 Gen10, HPE Synergy providing composable architecture for vSAN (details), HPE DL360 & DL385.

HPE recently launched ProLiant DL325 Gen10 which is Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)-EPYC™ 7551P based single-socket platform  – and our joint teams have certified this platform as a vSAN Ready Node. Figure below captures one of the All-Flash configurations:

Enabling vSAN on a single-server socket platform further opens up the HCI space to mid-market and SMB environments that want enterprise grade-level performance with higher CPU utilization ratios.

Both HPE and AMD showcased the below video at VMworld running SQL 2017 on an entry level 3-node All-Flash vSAN cluster achieving consistent performance with low latencies at sustained IO rates on a single-socket system.
