News and Announcements
We made a series of announcements unveiling offerings designed to help customers succeed in a multi-cloud era. In total we issued eight releases packed full of product releases and partnership announcements. Here are some highlights:
- Cloud: A broadened set of additional cloud offerings, including new VMware Cloud Services that enable end-to-end visibility into cloud usage, costs, and networks, with consistent networking and security across public clouds and on-premises environments.
- Security: VMware AppDefense for vSphere-based infrastructure and cloud environments – a breakthrough solution for securing applications running on virtualized or cloud environments.
- SDDC: New releases of VMware Integrated OpenStack and vRealize Network Insight to help customers modernize their data centers to increase business and developer agility while introducing increased networking and security capabilities. We also unveiled a new VMware vSAN offering to accelerate the adoption of distributed IT.
- End-User Computing: We announced Workspace ONE as the industry’s first unified end user experience, management and security solution for all endpoint platforms. Our continued integration of application and access management, unified endpoint management (VMware AirWatch), and virtual application delivery (VMware Horizon) helps organizations evolve silo-ed cloud and mobile investments.
- Containers: VMware and Pivotal unveiled the new Pivotal Container Service (PKS) offering in collaboration with Google. This new Pivotal Container Service (PKS) delivers a simple way to deploy and operate production-ready Kubernetes on VMware vSphere and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
