Nearly 6 months ago, we launched Intersect, a new blog aimed at educating executives and other business leaders on the technologies and cultural shifts that underpin digital transformation. If you haven’t been following, now is a great time to give it a look—we’ve published a lot of insightful and informational content that has legs beyond a given news cycle, and we’re ramping up to produce a whole lot more.
Here’s what you missed, but can easily catch up on.
Cloud Native in 15 Minutes
Cloud Native in 15 Minutes is a bi-weekly, 15-minute-long podcast featuring the people behind some of the hottest technologies in enterprise IT—from artificial intelligence to streaming data. We ask questions about how these technologies might impact enterprise IT strategies and business objectives, and they give thoughtful answers. Episodes to date include:
Cloud Native in 15 Minutes is available wherever you listen to podcasts, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. Listen in other channels and subscribe here:
Technology explained for people in a hurry
One of the tenets of Intersect is that it shouldn’t require a sabbatical to gain a foundational understanding of new technologies. Apart from the podcast, we also have published a number of guides to help readers connect the dots between the tech they’re hearing about and the business-level KPIs on which they’ll ultimately be judged:
- The CIO’s guide to Kubernetes
- The CIO’s guide to CI/CD
- An introduction to event-driven architecture and Apache Kafka
Advice and hard-earned insights
Intersect is also the place to find insights and advice from folks who live and breathe digital transformation within large companies. These aren’t cliched articles about managing millennials or general-purpose “CIO tips,” but rather actionable advice on everything from retaining talented employees to reorganizing your DevOps efforts to account for new IT practices:
- ‘Objection inversion’: Why platform ops can create new champions in IT
- Microservices are not the destination
- Duke Energy is using data to evaluate corporate strategies. You can, too.
- How CEOs can drive digital innovation without learning to code
- Scale and velocity are driving the next generation of DevOps
- 4 types of employees you’ll need to manage carefully during digital transformation
The Intersect newsletter
We also experimented with a weekly Intersect newsletter that provided context around major enterprise IT news stories, as well as a roundup of all the important stories across cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and more. You can find some highlights and full issues on the Intersect site, and if you like what you see, email us and let us know!
If enough people are interested, perhaps the newsletter will live again!
Let us know what you think and want
We understand that enterprise IT can be difficult, especially at a time when demands and technology are moving so fast. The goal of Intersect is to help readers and listeners make sense of it all, with quality content they won’t get on corporate blogs (even our own!) or anyplace else on the internet without some serious searching. But we can’t do that to our fullest potential without hearing from you.
So once you’ve taken a look at Intersect, please let us know what you think. Tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to see more of, and we’ll do our best to make it happen!
