Benchmark software delivery performance with new DORA metrics plug-in
Platform teams can now track and benchmark their software delivery with the Tanzu Application Platform new DORA metrics plug-in. View deployment frequency and lead time for changes metrics with the new plug-in. Deployment frequency refers to the frequency of successful software releases to production; while lead time for changes captures the time between a code change commit and its deployable state.
Monitor your team’s performance and easily compare it against industry standards and internal milestones. Use these performance indicators to continuously assess and improve the software delivery practices of your teams, all while improving transparency to management and accountability to business goals.

Spring and Tanzu Application Platform: Better together
The inclusion of VMware Spring Runtime with Tanzu Application Platform simplifies development, bolsters security, and offers a host of enterprise features within a unified environment. Read more in this blog post.
Easily migrate your existing Spring applications that use service registry to Tanzu Application Platform. This enhancement provides service discovery for existing Spring applications that use Spring Cloud Eureka (also known as service registry) in other environments. Migrate those apps to Tanzu Application Platform today, with no expected code changes.
Experience dynamic API capabilities for VMware Spring Cloud Gateway for Kubernetes 2.1. Curated APIs will automatically apply Workload API routes from their specific OpenAPI specifications onto a Spring Cloud Gateway for Kubernetes instance, which can result in a much smoother developer experience.
Tanzu Mission Control accelerates proof of concept with simplified deployment
According to the State of Kubernetes 2023 report data, the top two business benefits of adopting Kubernetes platforms relate to the effectiveness of operations and development teams. We saw that 64 percent of the software development and IT professionals surveyed for this report agreed that IT operators are more efficient, while 60 percent said that developers are more productive when leveraging Kubernetes.
Increasing developer productivity, removing complexity, and reducing toil provides a faster path to production and reduces time to market and time to value. Thus, we are glad to announce the introduction of an easy-to-use, guided workflow inside VMware Tanzu Mission Control for the deployment of the Tanzu Application Platform, an integrated platform that enables application teams to get started with pre-configured templates for cloud native patterns quickly.
Platform teams who currently use Tanzu Mission Control can now provision a Tanzu Application Platform environment with a simplified, single-cluster installation workflow. This can reduce complexity and accelerate the delivery of the platform for application development teams to start proof-of-concept work. Teams will be able to unlock developer productivity while enabling faster, more secure app design, development, and delivery.
A guided workflow for multicluster installation is also an option for a production-grade deployment and includes granular role-based access control (RBAC) capabilities, avoiding the hassle of configuring YAML files or copying and pasting service tokens. Learn more here.

Preconfigured, ready-to-code developer environment
This capability (released in alpha) allows developers to get onboarded quickly and immediately start coding, using all the required Tanzu Application Platform development and deployment tooling, preconfigured and installed on their local machine. Access curated environments without having to manually install multiple tools separately, which can be time-consuming and error prone.
