Get Ready for SASE and SD-WAN at VMworld 2021

VMworld 2021 starts on Tuesday, October 5. This year’s conference is virtual again, with a follow-the-sun agenda and more than 500 sessions out of 1,100+ available on-demand. Register here, then come back and learn more about our SASE and SD-WAN sessions!

We had hoped to see you all in person at this year’s VMworld. COVID-19 had other ideas. But we’re still excited to show you how we’re innovating, inspiring change, and helping you adapt to the new norms of working from anywhere and the evolving network edge.

A few links to help you get started

If you’ve attended VMworld before – in person or online – you know it can be a little overwhelming. If you’ve never attended, get ready for a LOT of information! To help you sort through it all, here are some helpful links.

New in 2021: The Edge

The Edge track is new at VMworld this year. This track is all about the new market opportunities, new applications and services, and new modes of connectivity that have been accelerated by both innovation and the pandemic. When your workforce can be anywhere, enterprises and communications service providers have the opportunity to work together to bring them the services they need and make sure they can use those services with rock-solid security.

Imagine That at VMworld, October 5-7, 2021

In this track, you’ll hear from experts including our own Sanjay Uppal, SVP and GM of the Service Provider and Edge Business Unit. In his keynote, Sanjay will speak with Rupesh Chokshi, Vice President Cybersecurity & Edge, AT&T; André Devillars, Head of IT Infrastructure Architecture, Michelin; and Dr. Rainer Deutschmann, Group COO, Telia. We’ll tell you more about that solution keynote in a later blog post.

Sessions include customers, partners and experts from companies including T-Mobile, Lumen, BT Global, NTT Docomo, Dell, Nokia, Intel, DISH, Telefonica, NVIDIA, Hughes, and more.

Learn more about SASE and VMware Edge Network Intelligence

Speaking of experts, today we’re spotlighting a couple of sessions from VMware SASE technology leaders: Craig Connors, the VP and CTO of VMware’s Service Provider and Edge business unit, and Anand Srinivas, one of the chief architects of VMware Edge Network Intelligence.

Craig Connors presents VMware SASE: What’s New and What’s Next [EDG1647]: As a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure, VMware is well positioned to enable organizations to transform their approach to networking and security. Join this session to hear our business leaders talk about VMware’s powerful vision, comprehensive strategy, innovation plans, and how VMware SASE helps organizations add customer value, improve economics, and mitigate risk.

In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • VMware SASE, which includes VMware SD-WAN, and our focus on networking and security services delivered via global points of presence.
  • VMware’s strategy to enable work from anywhere, including pre-integrated Anywhere Workspace solutions for secure and seamless experiences.
  • VMware’s vision for self-healing LAN and WAN via VMware Edge Network Intelligence.

Anand Srinivas and Wendy Brown, Director of Marketing, present AIOps for SASE: Self-Healing Networks with VMware Edge Network Intelligence [EDG1172]: The complexity of solving connectivity problems for work-from-anywhere end-user devices and critical Internet of Things (IoT) devices has grown exponentially. IT operations needs a solution that automates identifying real problems, pinpoints the root cause, and can even self-heal the problem. VMware Edge Network Intelligence is an AIOps solution leveraging machine learning and AI to enable clients with the best performance possible, no matter what application they use or where they connect from. In this session, we will share the advantages of integrating VMware Edge Network Intelligence with VMware SD-WAN. You will learn about true visibility and analytics for end-user and IoT device experience, including how VMware Edge Network Intelligence can show what your potential experience should be using industry baselines tailored for your environment.
