Following on the heels of its 2018 Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure, Gartner published its complement, the Critical Capabilities Report. Gartner evaluated solutions from 21 vendors against three popular use cases:
Midsize Enterprise/Regional WAN Use Case
Large Global WAN
Small Footprint Retail WAN
VMware is excited to receive the highest scores for its Product/Service in the Midsize Enterprise/Regional WAN and the Large Global WAN Use Cases, and to be placed in the top five of the Small Footprint Retail WAN Use Case.
The Critical Capabilities report projects that by 2023, more than 50% of the existing installed base of branch office routers will have been replaced by modern WAN edge solutions. In fact, one of the key findings of the report is that traditional branch routers are no longer sufficiently agile to meet the demands of digital business and cloud IT delivery.
