Did you miss the excitement and innovation at VMware Explore 2023 in Las Vegas? We’re here to guide you through the highlights and key takeaways from the event. Today we bring you an interview with analyst Zeus Kerravala, founder of ZK Research, on SiliconANGLE theCUBE.
Kerravala, along with hosts Lisa Martin and Dave Vellante, discussed VMware’s software-defined edge and its potential opportunity. He highlighted the need for the edge operating model, emphasizing the importance of variable bandwidth, compute, and storage limitations. The video also recapped the announcement of VMware Edge Cloud Orchestrator, an industry-first offering that will create a friction-free bridge between edge networking, security, and compute.
“One of the underappreciated announcements here [that] flew under the radar a little was the edge announcement, the software-defined edge. If they can use that position then to expand that VMware operational model — which, let’s face it, a lot of IT pros love — to then expand to the edge, I think that creates an opportunity for them that’s as big as their current total addressable market.”
