AT&T Business Summit opened on a rainy day last week, but the overcast weather didn’t deter anyone from coming out to the event. Having completely sold out two weeks prior and boasting a long list of industry influencers and technical solution matter experts, this show was not to disappoint.
The theme of the show was “Dawn of a New Decade,” reflecting AT&T’s commitment to innovation and providing its customers with what they need when they need it. With two full days of sessions (160 total!) and multiple tracks, AT&T’s customers and partners would walk away with all their questions answered.
AT&T created a fully immersive experience at its Summit, recruiting top partners to exhibit, establishing many networking opportunities for attendees to interact, offering great food and music, and showing off its fun side by incorporating fun cars and movie props everywhere.
AT&T also hosted both former first lady Michelle Obama (on Tuesday) and former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (on Wednesday) to talk with about their respective experiences in the White House. For entertainment, rock legends Lenny Kravitz and Sting took to the stage on respective nights of the event.
SD-WAN and AT&T
VMware SD-WAN™ by VeloCloud® is one of AT&T’s partners, providing SD-WAN services to support AT&T’s connectivity and solution portfolio. As part of our participation in the Summit, we hosted two breakout sessions and participated in a third panel with another partner, RingCentral.
Network Edge: The new frontier for EUC, IoT, 5G, and beyond – For this session, VMware SD-WAN’s Steve Woo teamed up with Sab Gosal from Intel to present the vision for how SD-WAN will be the foundation of the new digital branch and how it’s architecture is perfectly suited to support the demands of evolving business-focused technology. Steve set the stage by sharing how VMware SD-WAN’s hyperscale platform, security angle, and network of clouds will enable enterprises of any size and in any location to construct the network they need to accelerate their business. Sab then presented Intel’s hardware platform that supports SD-WAN and the future of IoT.
The Age of SD-WAN: Bringing network intelligence to life – Steve Woo again made it to the stage, but this time was accompanied by Rupesh Chokshi, AVP at AT&T, and a joint customer. During the presentation, Steve and Rupesh discussed why SD-WAN is the right platform for forward-looking enterprises and our joint customer gave his testimonial about how implementing SD-WAN two years ago has dramatically changed the way it does business now and how SD-WAN has enabled revenue-generating financial services that wouldn’t have been possible with a traditional WAN.
Delivering a Multi-Cloud Strategy with Cloud Communication, Open APIs and SD-WAN – RingCentral lead this panel discussion, hosting Box, Gong.io, and VMware SD-WAN’s Steve Woo (again). During this session, the panelists discussed how cloud is changing technology and networking today.
