We’ve received a few questions recently about the difference between the VMware Certified Professional 6.5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV) exams. The exam for new candidates (2V0-622) and the Delta exam for current VCP6-DCV holders (2V0-622D) may have similar details and objectives, but they are two different exams.
The Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who wrote the VCP6.5-DCV Delta exam questions were different from the SMEs who wrote the VCP6.5-DCV regular exam, and they wrote an entirely separate – but similar – set of exam questions for each. However, both groups agreed that the Job Task Analysis and general exam content should be similar, since the end goal of each exam was the same: to test a candidate’s competency on VCP6.5-DCV skills.
When looking at the content of the exam questions specifically, the main difference between the two exams is that the Delta exam content is more focused on the upgrade content between vSphere v6.0 and v6.5, whereas the regular exam covers vSphere v6.5 content in general.
I hope this clears up some of the questions about these two exams, but please feel free to ask any others you may have in the comments below.
