“Do I have to meet VCP certification requirements in order?” is one of the most common questions we’re asked. You can complete the VMware Certified Professional (VCP) requirements in any order, but you are not certified until you have completed all of the requirements.
We recommend completing the course requirement before scheduling and taking the exam(s) as it will help you prepare for the exam topics, but this is not enforced. Being able to schedule an exam does not imply that you have met the other certification requirements.
