VCAP Waivers for VCDX – Take Advantage Now Before it Ends!

VCDX merchEarlier this year, the VCAP5 certification exams for the Cloud and Desktop solution tracks were retired. Since these were used as prerequisites to the VCDX-DT and VCDX-Cloud certifications, we subsequently waived that requirement for anyone applying for and defending for those VCDX tracks.

Along with the announcement of the 2016 VCDX schedule, as well as the upcoming 2016 releases of the VCIX6 in Q1, and subsequent release of the VCDX6-DTM and VCDX6-CMA certifications, we are announcing the end of the waived prerequisites for those tracks. In 2016, all candidates for all tracks of VCDX will once again be required to hold the prerequisite VCIX/VCAP certifications.

For those planning on applying with the waiver in place, there is still time. You can apply by December 11 and still take advantage of the waiver. (See the 2016 schedule link above.)  Although there is currently only one VCDX-DT and VCDX-Cloud defense listed in July, based on the number of submissions received and panelist availability, we may add additional defenses.

As we upgrade the VCDX certification for v6, which includes removing the troubleshooting scenario requirement at the defense (see that announcement here), removing this waiver will allow us to maintain the validation of the critical administration and technical skills tested at the VCIX level.
