EMEA Instructor Award Winners Recognized

Each quarter, the VMware EMEA Education team recognizes outstanding VMware Certified Instructors (VCIs) from the region. The awards are given to instructors who share their expertise about VMware technologies with others, show consistent excellence in customer evaluation scores, and have an ability to help students make the most of their VMware technology. When considering the candidates we look at:

  • The number and range of courses they had delivered.
  • Whether they were early adopters of new course releases.
  • Their evaluation scores for subject knowledge, professional and presentation skills, and ability to encourage participation and respond to questions.

We also took into consideration what they were doing to support the VMware training community. All the candidates were close on this, so this quarter’s candidate pool was the hardest we have had to judge.

The VMware Authorized Training Center (VATC) VCI of the Quarter is Mauro Balbiani.Mauro wins the award for his involvement in creating the nested labs on his VATCs vCloud environment, passing the IaaS exam, in addition to consistently getting perfect 5.0 scores across all instructor evaluation categories. This was a tremendous achievement given the exceptional breadth of courses delivered by Mauro during the quarter which included SRM, Thinapp, vCloud, View, as well as the core vSphere curriculum. Mauro also writes for two blogs focusing on VMware virtualization at http://lavaligiagrigia.it/ and http://theblog.systematika.it/.
The Independent VCI of the Quarter is Jose Maria Gonzalez.Jose was nominated by Magirus Spain and wins the award for his great community work. In addition to delivering several advanced vSphere courses during the quarter to the highest standards, he is an active member of the VCI community. He is also an active twitter user (@jose_m_gonzalez) with 3345 followers and several tweets daily on Cloud and VMware. He also maintains a blog http://www.josemariagonzalez.es/ on the same themes posting a number of video tutorials and articles.
