We’re thrilled to invite you to VMware Explore in Las Vegas, where we’ll be showcasing the latest innovations in multi-cloud network security and redefining perceptions of managing cloud infrastructure.

Keep reading for a sneak peek at what you’ll find at VMware Explore 2023 in the realm of multi-cloud networking and security. Below, we describe the live demos and other events you can look forward to by connecting with us at https://engage.vmware.com/explore2023

Multi-cloud networking and security with NSX: An overview

The technologies we’ll showcase at VMware Explore are part of VMware NSX.

With NSX, you can deploy workloads automatically without opening tickets and get end-to-end visibility across private, hybrid, and multi-clouds. Moreover, NSX’s security features can help strengthen your ransomware defenses and detect and evict threats in your private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments with strong lateral security. In fact, NSX is the industry’s only network virtualization platform with full stack L2-L7 integrated networking to connect, protect, and scale your infrastructure running across clouds.

But don’t just take our word for it. Come check out our demos by visiting us at VMware Explore or in our virtual booth at https://engage.vmware.com/explore2023, where we cover a wide range of use cases, including:

Demo 1: Achieve Consistent Multi-Cloud Networking and Security with NSX+

Learn how we deliver policy management, security analytics, network detection and response, and advanced load balancing as a service. You can achieve consistent policy, end-to-end traffic flow visibility, strong lateral security, and simpler operations –centrally managed from a single cloud console.

VMware NSX+ is a new NSX offering that allows customers to transition to a SaaS-based multi-cloud operating model for networking, security, and advanced load balancing.  VMware NSX+ is a SaaS-based multi-cloud networking and security solution delivered as a service, offering Centralized Policy Management, NSX Intelligence and NDR Network Detection Response for both networking and security across multiple cloud.

Demo 2: Simplify Network consumption with Multi-Cloud VPC

NSX 4.1 introduced the concept of Projects, a new feature that enables granular resource management for multiple tenants within NSX deployments with flexible resource allocation and management. Enterprise admins can segment network resources and assign them to different tenants while maintaining full visibility and control. Within a Project, they can create isolated network VPCs with appropriate guardrails.

The VPC delivers a self-service model for the tenants, allowing application owners to consume network segments and security policies without requiring extensive knowledge of networking or security.  The Enterprise Admin can deliver this self-service model without sacrificing control.  They can easily isolate resources between tenants and write compliance policies that supersede whatever a tenant does within the VPC.

Demo 3: Connect and Migrate Multi-Cloud Applications

This demo showcases three VMware turnkey solutions:

VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC): Connect and migrate applications and optimize connectivity across complex cloud deployments with Transit Connect Gateway and NSX Advanced Firewall. Enable layer 7 distributed security and full network traffic inspection with NSX Advanced Firewall for VMware Cloud on AWS.

HCX: Achieve seamless and secure migration of your workloads across on-premises deployments and VMware Cloud on AWS. HCX simplifies connectivity, security, and operations across multiple domains.

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF): Federate networking, security, and operations control across multiple on-premises deployments using NSX federation.

Demo 4: Prevent Ransomware with strong lateral security

VMware NSX secures East-West traffic – the new battleground against threats  – to defend against ransomware using a zero-trust approach.

The NSX Distributed Firewall, NSX Advanced Threat Prevention, and NSX Advanced Load Balancer running across clouds offer a software-delivered, distributed architecture and advanced threat prevention. NSX Intelligence provides security visibility, enabling customers to quickly identify and respond to security threats. Together, they enable zero-trust security, are easy to deploy, and automate policy management while reducing overall costs.

Demo 5: Simplify Operations with Load Balancing as a Service

VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer simplifies app delivery with multi-cloud load balancing, web application firewall protection, and container ingress services.  With preconfigured thresholds and a closed-loop feedback system, it provides the elasticity and agility that modern networks require.

Demo 6: Securing Modern Apps with Antrea and NSX Advanced Load Balancer

Modern applications introduce unique requirements and vulnerabilities. VMware Antrea provides centralized management, visibility, and enforcement of security policies for East-West traffic in private and public clouds. With NSX Advanced Load Balancer AKO (Avi Kubernetes Operator) connects, secures, and automates modern applications across clouds (North-South traffic) with elastic scalability, high availability, and self-healing/disaster recovery.

Demo 7: Ransomware Protection with NSX ATP and VMware Cloud DR (VCDR)

VMware Networking and Security offers ransomware protection built directly into the virtualization layer with NSX Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP) and VMware Cloud DR. VMware NSX Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP), provides streamlined protection across the five main cybersecurity functions defined by NIST – Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover – and empowers security operations teams to detect malicious activity quickly to stop lateral movement of threats.

Conclusion

VMware’s comprehensive networking and security solutions are designed to help businesses achieve a consistent cloud operating model across their entire infrastructure.
