I am happy to announce the latest updates in VMware Aria Operations. These announcements range from Platform modernization, Integrated Operations, providing a simplified product experience and Content Enhancements

We will be having separate deep-dive blogs for most of these topics which will provide in-depth technical understanding of these features.

Enhanced Launchpad

In this release of VMware Aria Operations, short explainer videos will be available under the Learn More Actions which will provide contextual demos to help familiarize with the feature.

This will reduce the time new users would take to find value in the product.

VCF Compliance

VMware Cloud Foundation compliance provides organizations with a general compliance guideline for their On-Prem VMware solutions.

VCF stack evaluation is basis VCF objects being subjected to conditions defined in the Configurations Data Set.

The objects currently included in this are vSphere ESXi, vCenter Server, SDDC Manager, vSAN and NSX-T.

Integrated onboarding of VMware Aria Operations with Cloud Editions

VMware is introducing Cloud Editions to help achieve faster time to market and streamline maintenance windows, improve global security, and inventory visibility.

Our customers can reduce TCO for on-prem deployments with higher infrastructure utilization and automated life cycle management, and future-proof infrastructure with hybrid cloud services including protection for any workload with VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery.

VMware Aria Operations is part of Essentials, Standard and Pro Cloud Editions as VMware Aria Universal Suite along with flavors of vSphere and vSAN.

Improved monitoring of vSAN with Oversubscription metrics

Two new metrics have been added for the vSAN Cluster Object which will help customers in their vSAN Infrastructure capacity planning.

  1. Disk Space | Oversubscription Capacity (GB)

This metric denotes the cluster capacity of vSAN Datastore if all the objects are thick provisioned. Oversubscription calculation considers all VMs, user objects, and storage policy overhead but does not consider vSAN namespace and swap objects.

  • Disk Space | Oversubscription Ratio

This ratio is necessary as one needs to know by how much is the current vSAN datastore oversubscribed. The oversubscription ratio applies to available capacity, which is the total capacity minus the reserved capacity.

New VMware NSX Dashboards

New NSX Out-of-the-box dashboards have been added which can be easily accessed through Launchpad. Through these dashboards you can gain insight into your NSX environment. They have been categorized as inventory and performance dashboards.

Sustainable Operations with Green Score Drilldown

VMware Green Score helps organizations track their sustainability journey so that they know how green their operations are.

With the latest release, Green Score can be calculated at a datacenter level thus helping organizations identify which data center resources need optimization and help with further reduction in carbon emissions and save on costs.

VMware Aria Content Marketplace

Now you can find all your Aria content related to the On-Prem version of VMware Aria Operations and VMware Aria Operations for Logs and Third-Party content in a single public location which is VMware Marketplace.
