VMware vCenter ADM 6.2 is GA

VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manager (ADM) 6.2 is now GA.

vCenter ADM 6.2 adds the following new capabilities besides numerous routine fixes:

  • Ability to authorize and authenticate Active Directory users – ADM 6.2 can authorize and authenticate users created in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Active Directory.
  • Knowledge Base Addition: Capability to discover SharePoint Application instances – ADM 6.2 includes a built-in Application Pattern for discovery of Microsoft Sharepoint applications
  • Support for NMAP as an additional discovery methodology – ADM 6.2 adds and integrates NMAP as an additional and optional discovery method in the IP Discovery category within ADM. NMAP can be used in addition to ADM’s existing discovery methodologies (Passive, Agent-less active polling and ICMP). This enables users to get quicker gratification along with passive discovery, while they set up more comprehensive active discovery using polling mechanisms.
