Blue Medora is excited to announce the release of the Blue Medora Dell EMC XtremIO Management Pack for vRealize Operations to give you more visibility into the intersection of Dell EMC XtremIO storage and the virtual layer.
With the management pack, you can dive deep into the performance of your storage workloads. Following are four key ways you can enhance your monitoring with Dell EMC XtremIO.
Gain insight into performance, like throughput and latency
Understanding throughput, IOPS and latency for key XtremIO layers, like volumes and disks, can help you optimize the performance of your Dell EMC XtremIO workloads. With access to more than 1,000 metrics, the management pack from Blue Medora makes it easy for you to track essential throughput and latency metrics.

The management pack includes six out-of-the-box dashboards and reports for end-to-end visibility, including:
- XtremIO Overview, providing at-a-glance heatmap views depicting the overall health of your resources
- XtremIO Cluster Overview, displaying alerts metrics and at-a-glance badges for all resources within that cluster
- XtremIO Hosted VMs, allowing you to select a VM to view its related datastore, volume and cluster
- XtremIO Health Investigation, featuring at-a-glance health status badges for all resources in your XtremIO environment
- XtremIO Performance, enabling you to see key performance problems and issues in your environment
- XtremIO Volume Overview, allowing you to select a volume to view alerts, health status, properties, metrics and relationships
Know when hardware issues and failures arise
It can be challenging — if not impossible — to know where failed hardware is physically located in the storage array. The Dell EMC XtremIO Management Pack gives you more than 400 alerts and notifications to help identify exactly where issues are occurring.
When problems arise, instantly and automatically receive alerts so you can pinpoint issues faster — ensuring that you can fix any issues before they head to other layers in the stack.

Key alerts and notifications monitored in the management pack include:
- UPS failure
- No SSD space free
- Data consistency error
Understand storage capacity at all levels
From arrays to volume groups; volumes to datastores; gain insight into your storage capacity for all aspects of your SAN. The management pack from Blue Medora features capacity definitions for key elements in your XtremIO environment, including IOPS capacity, memory capacity and throughput capacity.

In addition, the predictive analytics capabilities of the vRealize Operations Analysis Badges populates capacity and utilization breakdowns for key resource kinds in your XtremIO environment.
Prevent Noisy Neighbor Syndrome
What virtual machine demands storage resources? How does it impact your other virtual machines? Answer these questions — and more — with relationship mapping in the Dell EMC XtremIO Management Pack.
Easily navigate your environment while seeing quick drill-downs so that you can find the root-cause of issues and ease troubleshooting. In addition to key internal relationships, the management pack from Blue Medora includes access to key external relationships like volume to VMware datastore.
