Today, Skyview Capital announced that it has acquired VMware’s vRealize Business Enterprise and IT benchmarking solutions. (Read Skyview Capital’s press release).
Skyview Capital has formed a new company around the acquired products and team named Digital Fuel SV, LLC, of which VMware is a minority investor. Digital Fuel is committed to the continued innovation of the vRealize Business Enterprise and IT benchmarking solutions to the benefit of our joint customers.
Finding the right buyer for vRealize Business Enterprise and IT benchmarking solutions was key for us. We believe Skyview Capital is an excellent fit. They have an established track record of successfully acquiring and growing businesses through increased investments in sales, marketing and R&D. Most recently, they acquired Syncplicity from EMC in 2015.
Commitment to Cloud Business and Costing
With this transaction, VMware will continue to focus our resources on our cloud management platform (CMP) business and our remaining vRealize family of products. We stay committed to providing IT infrastructure customers with increased transparency and control over the costs and quality of IT services through the vRealize Suite—which continues to feature vRealize Business for Cloud. A separate and distinct product line from vRealize Business Enterprise, vRealize Business for Cloud delivers key cloud business capabilities including costing, pricing, consumption analysis for both private and public clouds, private and public cloud cost comparisons and more, to IT organizations.
Going Forward
In the transition, VMware is working with Digital Fuel to provide on-going support and services to vRealize Business Enterprise and IT benchmarking customers.
We are proud of our work to grow our IT Financial Management business which was built on the acquisitions of Digital Fuel in 2011 and of iTHC and their IT benchmarking solutions in 2013. We attracted an impressive list of enterprise customers globally helping customers to successfully manage their IT spending and budgets by providing transparency and control over the costs and quality of IT services. Key to that success was the vRealize Business Enterprise team.
