VMware Compliance Checker for vSphere is a free, downloadable product for checking compliance of vSphere environment to help you ensure that it remains secure and compliant. It provides detailed compliance checks against the VMware vSphere Hardening Guidelines. For example, you can print the reports that Compliance Checker produces, and can run compliance checks across multiple ESX and ESXi servers at once.
You need to download Compliance Checker for vSphere to a Windows desktop. To assess the compliance of your ESX or ESXi hosts, enter the name or IP address of the vCenter Server they are managed by, and then click Assess Compliance.
The resulting compliance report provides a detailed rule by rule indication of pass or failure. Where compliance problems are found, users are directed to a detailed knowledge base for an explanation of the rule violated and advice on remediation. You can save and print the compliance assessment reports to your team for review and they can be saved for archival needs.
