Global Certification Testing Changes

Updated: November 25, 2020 – As the shelter-in-place situation continues to evolve, we wanted to make you aware of additional updates from Pearson VUE-owned test centers at this time, including the availability of remote exams in some locations. More details below.

Pearson VUE has begun to reopen Pearson Professional Centers (PPC) for test delivery, aligned with government guidance and with appropriate health and safety measures, in these regions:

  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • China
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Guam
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • South Africa
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • Turkey
  • US Virgin Islands
  • Wales

Effective May 1, 2020, some Pearson VUE-owned and operated PPCs will become available for testing in the U.S. and Canada – in areas where there are no restrictions prohibiting operation. However, Pearson VUE continues to extend the temporary suspension of exam deliveries where restrictions remain.

In alignment with the most recent guidance provided by local authorities, the World Health Organization, and others, Pearson VUE has made the decision to extend the suspension of exam deliveries in Mexico.

With the exception of testing programs that qualify as essential services, test delivery is currently suspended in England and Scotland per government guidelines.

At this time, the remaining open PPCs throughout the rest of the world are operational; however, as a reminder from Pearson VUE – they began implementing additional distancing measures within all of their global PPCs based on recommendations from several global health organizations.

For real-time updates, please visit Pearson VUE’s website for details of how COVID-19 may affect your exam appointment. Information on this page includes:

  • Testing center closures and country-specific testing availability
  • Health and safety measures including a temporary policy requiring candidates and employees wear face mask or face covering
  • Candidate scheduling information
  • Other candidate FAQ’s

Lastly, VMware Certification is pleased to announce that remote proctoring of its exams, delivered by Pearson VUE, is now available in most locations. Remote proctoring allows you to take the exam from ANY secure location (with the exception of Japan, South Korea, and China at this time), and will be a permanent offering, regardless of the availability of in-person testing centers going forward.

Due to country regulations, remote proctoring is not available in China, Cuba, Iran, Japan, North Korea, Slovenia, South Korea, and Sudan. Candidates who reside in these countries will not be able to register for an OnVUE exam.

All exams are now available for remote proctored delivery, except for the VCAP Deploy lab-based exams; with a different underlying delivery infrastructure, they take a bit more work and will be available soon.
