Top 3 Highlights from the Education and Certification Lounge at VMworld 2019 US

With San Francisco behind us and Barcelona ahead, it’s official: VMworld season has arrived again!

Didn’t make it to VMworld US in San Francisco last month? That’s too bad! Nothing comes close to the in-person VMworld experience. But the Education Services team still wants to give you bit of an idea of what you missed in the Education and Certification Lounge at VMworld. To that end, we’ve put together a short list of our top three takeaways from the week.

Read on to discover all the learning, certification opportunities, and invaluable connections you missed out on this year. And for those among you starting to get that feeling of FOMO (fear of missing out)—fear not: Just pencil in VMworld 2020 on your calendar!

With expert-led sessions, certification celebrations, networking, career-changing discussions, and fun giveaways—VMworld US was amazing! It gave all of our attendees a chance to learn, connect, be inspired, and “Make Your Mark.”

In case you missed it, here’s a round up of our top 3 highlights from VMworld 2019 US:

1) Learning

So many sessions, so much to learn. That’s only part of what makes VMworld such a fantastic place to discover the latest in all things digital infrastructure. More specifically, we’ve structured our Lounge sessions to focus on actionable insights—insights you can actually take back to the office.

This year, the following sessions were particularly popular:

  • Introduction to Automating vSphere Infrastructure, the Cloud, and Beyond
  • Turbocharge Kubernetes with NSX and PKS
  • A Stretched Cluster in VMware Cloud on AWS works how?
  • Prove Your Skills and Validate Your Value with VMware Certification

Head over to the VMware Learning Zone to watch the recordings for these (and all the other) Lounge sessions.

So, what else makes VMworld such a great place to learn, you ask? Our expert VMware Certified Instructors! We saw so many post-session conversations where attendees collaborated with each other and our instructors to work through challenges and share best practices.

Outside the sessions, we loved all the instructive and electrifying conversations we had over the week in the Education and Certification Lounge—especially those from the all-star VCDX panel. Featuring Brett Guarino, Ron Wedel, and Jens Hennig, this power panel opened up the floor to the audience, answering the many questions from the audience had to ask (…that was until we had to stop them to get ready for our next session!)

2) Certifications

If you’re looking to take your IT career to new heights, VMware Certifications are a great way to validate your skills! Take a quick stroll through our Twitter and you’ll see a small fraction of the parade of proudly certified attendees from the week.

Between those that came to VMworld with existing certifications and those that passed certification exams onsite, there was plenty of cause for celebration—and plenty of enviable certifications pins to earn. Congratulations to all our certification superstars!

3) Connections

Come for the certifications, stay for the connections. At VMworld US, we had a great time getting to better know and learn from each other. It was by far our (and many of our guests’) favorite part of the conference. We enjoyed the sessions and certification celebrations portions of the week, but there’s nothing like making those human connections. VMworld 2019 US was abuzz with activity. It was a place to celebrate. To cheer on those who passed certification exams. To delight in each other’s company. And what a week it was!

Thanks to all our attendees for making this event so memorable—our best one yet, in fact. We hope to see you next time in San Francisco!

Last thing: Don’t forget to head over to the VMware Learning Zone to watch recordings from our San Francisco sessions.

Until next year!
