December Course Announcements: 6 NEW Ways for You to Upgrade your Skills

This month VMware Education Services released three NEW courses as well a Japanese version of a VMware Horizon 7 course and on demand versions of two additional courses. Summaries provided below.

 

VMware App Volumes and User Environment Manager on Horizon – This three-day course builds your skills in application management using VMware App Volumes™ and VMware User Environment Manager™. You learn how to use App Volumes to deliver applications and data to desktops and users in seconds. You gain skills in managing application lifecycles from installation to update and replacement. You also learn how to use User Environment Manager to provide personalization and dynamic policy configuration across virtual, physical, and cloud-based environments to simplify end-user profile management.

 

VMware vRealize Operations for Administrators [V7] – This two-day course is designed for data center administrators who are responsible for the day-to-day management of a VMware vSphere® environment using VMware vRealize® Operations™. This course will teach you how to use vRealize Operations as a forensic and predictive tool. The course is based on VMware ESXi™ 6.7, VMware vCenter Server® 6.7, and vRealize Operations 7.0.

 

VMware PowerCLI for vSAN Workshop – In this three-day class, you learn to use VMware PowerCLI™ to automate major VMware vSAN™ tasks. You learn the basics of the vSphere Web Services API, which is the central interface through which all VMware automation tasks can be performed. You gain hands-on knowledge about installing and configuring PowerCLI and learn the basic and advanced syntax. You also learn how to automate various tasks, such as reporting, health checks, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a vSAN cluster by using PowerCLI cmdlets.

 

VMware Horizon 7: Install, Configure, Manage [V7.3] – Japanese Version

This five-day, hands-on course gives you the skills to deliver virtual desktops and applications through a single virtual desktop infrastructure platform. This course builds your skills in installing, configuring, and managing VMware Horizon® 7 through a combination of lecture and hands-on labs. You will learn how to configure and deploy pools of virtual machines, how to manage the access and security of the machines, and how to provide a customized desktop environment to end users.

VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud: Deploy and Manage – During this course, you gain an understanding of the architecture and features of VMware NSX® SD-WAN by VeloCloud™. This course provides extensive hands-on labs in which you enable core NSX SD-WAN features, such as ensuring application performance using business policies, traffic redirections, and network service insertion.

 

VMware Cloud on AWS: Deploy and Manage – This course teaches you skills for deploying and managing a VMware Cloud™ on AWS infrastructure. Through a mix of lecture (85%) and guided, interactive, simulated labs (15%), you deploy and manage the VMware Cloud on AWS and VMware vSphere® features that build a foundation for a hybrid infrastructure. You also discuss when and where these features have the greatest effect. Anyone planning to migrate, build, or hybridize with VMware Cloud on AWS can benefit from this course.
